What to Avoid in Fiji
What to avoid in Fiji?
Not much!
Fiji from the main island to all of its 300 other islands is a bucket list kind of place. We found a few things you might want to consider as well.

Avoid the Wet Season:
The wet season for Fiji generally runs from November to April. This is also the time Fiji is at risk of cyclones. Add in high humidity and you have a thick soup of heat and moisture no one enjoys.

The Sun is INTENSE:
Did we mention this is the south pacific? Yea for those uninitiated with Fiji’s more remote resorts is the lack of what most come to expect at high end resorts. So be prepared to sweat. A lot. Conditioned air is really not a thing so be comfortable with being hot. After all, if its that bad, just jump in the water. Its literally surrounding you. If you are not accustomed to intense prolonged UV sun, bring SPF 50 sunscreen. Even at that SPF you will get some sun.

Stick to the Outer Islands:
The main island has all of the standard overpriced tourist traps. Stick with the outer islands for a greater exposure to what makes Fiji so amazing. Take a full day trip to Yanuya, Mana or Monurik and enjoy snorkeling, some incredible day hikes to waterfalls. Be ready to explore everything Fiji has to offer while avoiding what few tourist traps that exist in this south pacific paradise.
